Spooky Bingo
Before you head to the Spooktacular this year... Come to the Rec Center for 10 rounds of SPOOKY Bingo! All ages welcome!
$3 per player gets you bingo play, snacks and refreshments, and a chance to win a prize each round... including prizes sponsored by local businesses!
Wear your costume, play, snack, and WIN!

Downtown Spooktacular
This annual event is coordinated by the Tonganoxie Business Association in downtown Tonganoxie. Many local businesses, organizations and groups will set up downtown for a family friendly night of tricks and treats. Get your costumes ready and enjoy! The event is typically the last Friday prior to Halloween.

Tongie Rec Member Bash
Spend an evening at the Rec Center! We'll have an inflatable bounce house, an inflatable obstacle course, 9 Square in the Air, an autumn baking competition, and autumn themed crafts! Check out the Rec Center's various spaces and enjoy a night of fun with the family.
All are welcome to join, not just members!

Pet Photos with Santa
Bring pet supplies to donate to the Leavenworth County Humane Society, pose your furry friend with Santa, and get their picture taken!

Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting
The event will kick-off with a parade downtown on 4th street culminating at the Tonganoxie Public Library.

Letters to Santa
Drop off your letter to Santa at Santa's Mailbox located in the office at the Tonganoxie Post Office. Be sure to write your name and return address on the letter clearly so Santa can write a return letter before Christmas. 
Letters must be received by December 9th to receive a return note before Christmas.

St. Patrick's Day Parade
The community hosts a parade on the Saturday prior to St. Patrick's Day. Wear your green, join the parade or just take in the festivities.

Easter Egg Hunt
Tonganoxie Rec Commission hosts their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday April 1st. Bring your basket to collect eggs and your camera for pictures with the Easter Bunny. Games, crafts, and facepainting stations included! Hunting ages for children 10 & under.

Summer Kickoff Party
Our annual Summer Kickoff Party is Saturday June 24th, 5 - 7 PM. We celebrate with refreshments and activities for the whole community.
This year's Kickoff Party will feature free hot dogs, The Kahuna Ice Shave Co Truck & Dole-licious Truck will be on hand serving up free cool treats. There will also be a water slide, bounce castle, airbrush tattoos, dunk tank, and fire & bubble artists.

Ice Cream Social
Kick back with family and friends and enjoy a delicious dish of ice cream on TRC. This event is usually held on the last Sunday evening of August at Chieftain Park.

The Museum at Tonganoxie
Explore local history in the Fairchild-Knox Dairy Barns - a hay barn and attached milking parlor built in 1932. Learn about the main economic drivers of the town of Tonganoxie, platted in 1866. The museum site includes Honey Valley School, a one room schoolhouse, the Reno Methodist Church, a 1918 structure, and a fully restored 1936 fire pumper truck.
Spend some time with us this summer. Admission is free.
