Youth Activities

This 6-1/2 hour course covers safety skills, child care skills, life and business skills; as well as CPR instruction and manikin practice. Space is limited to the first 6 participants to register.
The class will be held at TRC's Activity Center (300 E. US 24/40) in the Activity Room.

Join us at Chieftain Park for an hour of flexibility, balance, strength... and GOATS! 

Goat Yoga KC will be bringing their four-legged friends to the park for us to enjoy.

Age Requirement: 6 years +

A fun and informative class where we will be making Heart Soap, Mermaid Sugar Scrub, and a relaxing salt scrub. These are great to take home and use or give as gifts!

Let's experience the splendor of nature! We will be making a beautiful Autumn Tree Painting, a pinecone owl, and a mixed media woodland scene. 

When: Saturday November 23

Time: 1 - 3 PM

Ages: 5 - 12

Fee: $10 residents/ $12 non-residents

For Wednesday's early release at the Middle School. We will have two sessions for the Fall Semester. You will sign up for each session individually. Each session includes 7 dates. Participants will go through drills and activities to work on skills related to basketball. Participants may also work on hand eye coordination, footwork, agility, and speed drills as well. 

*Students who are in an active sport at TMS cannot participate in this Skills Time*

Session 1 dates: September 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th; October 2nd, 9th, 16th

Session 2 dates: October 23rd, 30th; November 6th, 13th, 20th; December 4th, 11th

Time: 2:15pm - 3:30pm 

Grades: 6th - 8th graders ONLY

Fee: $50 per session

Students will learn how to get started crocheting, chain and single crochet stitches and learn about different kinds of yarn and hooks. They will also learn how to end a project.

A new class for kids who have taken the beginner Kids Crochet class and want to learn more!

Students will learn how to read a pattern to construct a hat. The first session students will read the pattern and get started. The second session will be to finish off the project. (2 session class)

Materials needed: "J" crochet jook and 1 skein of Red Heart yarn.

Come to the Recreation Activity center for All Ages Bingo! 10 rounds of bingo, prizes for each round, and snacks & drinks provided.
